Fred Jacobsson was born 1981 in Visby, Sweden. He grew up in Bavaria , Germany and learned to play bass-guitar autodidactically by the age of 16.

Jacobsson graduated from the music academy in Regensburg in 2005, after studies with Hans Attenberger and Christian Diener. From 2004 – 2008 he has been working for various musical productions and professional coverbands, with tours through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He studies at Codarts Rotterdam since 2009 following lessons from, among others, Pieter Douma, Jeroen Vierdag, Stefan Lievestro and Michel van Schie; he will graduate in 2013.
